Modular Origami

From Simple to Complex

You may have heard of modular origami… but what is it? Well, the concept is quite simple really - it is an origami model that is made up of smaller pieces or modules, then joined together in some way.

Usually these modules are all the same, however sometimes very complicated designs include several different types of modules joined together. Some advanced experts in origami have created some very complicated origami models. The pictures below are some of the more exciting models I have found.

Now while these models look amazing, they are a little complex for the average origami enthusiast! Here I have some fantastic, simpler designs you might like to try:

The Modular Star:
You can choose how many points you would like your star to have.

The Triangle Box:
Three modules make up this simple box, but you can easily join four or five together to form a bigger, more complicated box.
