EUGENIA - My girlfriend's new little friend

Suddenly I realized how fantastic would it be to make her something supremely special, and handcrafted, because I love to give that kind of gifts: the ones you make with your soul and your love... After I started thinking what to make, I found out my girl loved lizards, and she had this special affinity to France... So it was totally clear what to do: A lizard with an Old-school french bill. So I was lucky, because I collect bills from all over the world, and I had this 50-Franc bill, so I started looking around how to make a lizard with that bill... All I could find was 1-dollar-bill patterns and forms, so the challenge was to create some kind of lizard myself from a 50-Franc bill... After lots of tries with same-dimension cut white paper, I ended with a very basic, but specially beautiful kind-of lizard, and I decided she had to go in her own created container, because it was a special gift, so I made a little basic origami triangular box for her. Finally, after I gave the little gift to my girl, she was totally amazed, and after the emotion, happiness and the exciting, we named the little lizard EUGENIA, and she lives in her little triangular home ever since... |
